Self-Paced Pharmacy Technician Training Program Syllabus

Program Format: 100% Online | Self-Paced

Program Length: Self-paced. Students may complete the program at their own pace. Most students complete the course within 8–16 weeks, depending on their schedule.

Required Textbook:

The Pharmacy Technician: Foundations and Practices (3rd Edition) by Mike Johnston

Course Description

The Senior Point Consulting Pharmacy Technician Training Program is a comprehensive, self-paced online course designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as pharmacy technicians and the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). Students will complete instructional modules, chapter assignments, quizzes, and examinations while progressing at their own pace.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy practice and operations.
  • Apply federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Perform pharmacy calculations accurately.
  • Identify common medications, drug classifications, and therapeutic uses.
  • Understand prescription processing and medication safety.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sterile and nonsterile compounding.
  • Prepare for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).

Module 10: Pharmacy Calculations

Module 11: Inventory Management & Billing

Module 12: Sterile & Nonsterile Compounding

Module 13: Comprehensive PTCE Review

Module 14: Final Examination

Course Requirements

To successfully complete the program, students must:

  • Complete all instructional modules.
  • Complete all chapter quizzes and assignments.
  • Successfully pass the comprehensive final examination.
  • Meet all program completion requirements established by Senior Point Consulting.

Grading

  • Module Quizzes – 30%
  • Assignments – 30%
  • Final Examination – 40%

A minimum overall course average of 70% is required to successfully complete the program.

Certificate of Completion

Congratulations on completing the program! Once all course requirements have been successfully completed, students must email SeniorPointConsulting@gmail.com to notify the instructor that the course has been completed.

The instructor will review all course requirements and issue a Certificate of Completion. Please allow 24–48 hours after your email has been received for your completion to be verified and your certificate to be issued.
